With its top down approach to survival, you're forced to recruit, equip, and protect a wide range of colorful characters. But keeping your settlement running means putting people in danger. Characters can be deployed on a wide range of missions. Success can mean access to valuable caches of goods that can help you survive the next night, but failure means that your most useful fighters may be taken out of the field. Risk vs. reward factors heavily here, as you're forced to decide which characters are expendable and which of your dwindling resources are worth using up.

Supplies gathered in the app can be transferred directly to your console or PC session.
