Pixel Gun is a fully featured third person shooter. But all you have to do is take one look at it to realize it's a far cry from the sort of hyper realistic military shooters that dominate the marketplace. In Pixel Gun, everything from objects to people are rendered in voxels, creating an environment that's colorfully distinct. It's refreshing to see a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, and Pixel Gun feels no shame doubling down on the absurdity. Robots, dinosaurs, and jetpacks run amok in the open arena-style combat stages, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Beneath the sheen sits a rather solidly made shooter. Dozens of guns are available, and a rich variety of modes are on offer as well. Multiplayer modes include both cooperative and competitive play, with the former offering up to four and the latter up to eight players. A wide number of maps are available for each, varying fundamentally in size and design, and chat functions make it easy to communicate with your teammates or taunt your opponents. Pixel Gun also offers a fully functioning single player campaign mode where you're forced to beat back hordes of mindless computer controlled zombies.
