Toy Blast presents a simple matching concept in which players match color-coded blocks with their appropriate counterpart. When blocks of the same hue are matched correctly, the blocks will evaporate and make way for new ones. Pairing more than five blocks creates unique objects including rockets and bombs. With each successful match comes opportunities to progress throughout the game.

With over 100 game levels in Toy Blast, the game objectives are vast. In most cases, the player is required to match up blocks and nothing more, however, some levels pose a more worthwhile goal.
