WhatsCall is an app for making free phone calls. The program is developed by Cheetah Mobile Cloud, a public company on the New York Stock Exchange as CMC. The software uses a device's internet connection rather than cell towers or mobile data to make VOIP calls. The software is free to install, but users must participate in activities, such as viewing announcements, playing roulette or installing apps, in order to gain "credits," which can then be expended in exchange for call time. A user can earn up to 2,000 credits per day, which is enough for about a half hour of talking time. The program requires Android version 4.0 and up and is supported in 29 different languages, including Polish, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, Malaysian, French, Portuguese, Korean, Hindi, Thai, Indonesian and Hebrew.
